Building Renovations helped by aluminium panels.

21 October 2015 by Superior Panels

The construction industry goes through some cyclical periods of growth with the 1980’s and 1990’s being a period that witnessed a boom in the construction industry.

During this period, many commercial buildings were constructed and these are still performing well to this day.

Multicoloured Insulated Panels
An older building can be completely clad with multi coloured aluminium panels to create a modern facade.

These older offices, hospitals, retail parks and other commercial buildings will be fitted with windows, doors or curtain walling that are not as advanced as today’s modern architectural aluminium systems. Examples include non thermally broken windows, more basic commercial doors and non thermally broken screens or framing.

How aluminium panels can help building renovations

Nearly 30 years after the construction of these buildings, many are being refurbished, renovated and even undergoing a complete change of use.

It is not uncommon to see council properties turned into private apartments, commercial buildings into hotels and factories split into smaller industrial units.

Overcladding is often carried out as part of their refurbishment. Existing screens, cladding or structural elements can either be completely covered or enhanced through modern building materials.

aluminium panels are one of the best used products for the overcladding of existing buildings.

Aluminium panels are also up to date cladding materials.

Modern technology and machinery as well as advances in manufacturing and insulations now mean aluminium panels are widely used in the overcladding of older buildings.

Architects and specifiers are choosing aluminium insulated panels as they provide a very effective way of transforming an older building into something that looks like a brand new construction.

Cutting, shaping and even bending techniques used in panel manufacturing today mean contemporary or traditional designs can be achieved in virtually any kind of building.

Powder coating technology as well as sublimation used in the coating of metals also means that colour choice is vast as well as textured effects, metallic colours and wood effects are all possible.

Superior Insulated Panels already help many contractors and architects achieve dramatic and energy efficient renovations of older buildings through our advanced products and processes.  Contact us to find out how we can help you.
